- Vice- Chancellor Assures them of Stronger Relationship
The Vice- Chancellor, Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), Prof. E. Smaranda Olarinde, FCArb, FCAI, has revealed that the Institution is going to deepen its relationship with the Nigerian Bar Association Women Forum (NBAWF).
She made the disclosure on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, after a delegation from the NBAWF paid a courtesy visit to her office.
Leading the delegation, the Ekiti State Lead NBAWF- Atane Edabo Shirley, Esq., who is also a Special Assistant to the First Lady of Ekiti State, expressed appreciation for ABUAD’s remarkable contributions to legal education. In response, Prof. Olarinde reaffirmed the university’s commitment to fostering a more robust relationship with the NBA Women’s Forum.
“Just as we have a dynamic working relationship with the International Law Association– ILA (Nigerian Branch), we need similar bond with the NBA Women Forum,” she stated, acknowledging the significant population of aspiring female lawyers at ABUAD’s College of Law. She further commended the NBAWF team for their exemplary representation of women in law.
As a gesture of recognition, the team adorned the Vice Chancellor with an NBAWF emblem, while Edabo lauded ABUAD’s exceptional legal education, attributing its success to the visionary leadership of the Founder and Chancellor, Aare Afe Emmanuel Babalola, OFR, CON, SAN, and the Vice Chancellor, who both distinguished themselves in the legal profession.
Among the delegation were: the Director Research and Publication, Ministry of Justice (MOJ), Ekiti State- Odunayo Yetunde; NBA Ado Branch Facilitator and Associate Prof. College of Law, ABUAD, Ifeoluwa Olubiyi, Secretary MOJ- Ayodele Oluwatomisin and Coordinator Sexual Assault Referral Centre, Ekiti State- Rita Ilevbare.

The visit concluded with an invitation from the Vice- Chancellor extended to the NBAWF members to attend ABUAD’s 2025 International Women’s Day Celebration on Thursday, March 13, themed: “Accelerate Action for Gender Equality in Nigeria: Men as Allies or Aliens?”
The gender advocacy for inclusiveness, equity and representation has been further reaffirmed by the synergy between ABUAD, led by Prof. Olarinde and NBA Women Forum in their joint pursuit for women empowerment in Nigeria.
