Over the weekend, the Vice-Chancellor, Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), Prof. E. Smaranda Olarinde, FCArb, FCAI, arrived in Morocco to participate in the 16th Quadrennial General Conference of the Association of African Universities (AAU), scheduled to take place from July 21 to 25, 2025.
Themed “Shaping the Future of Higher Education for Innovation and Sustainable Development in Africa,” the conference brings together leading voices in African higher education to explore innovative pathways toward educational transformation and sustainability on the continent.
Ahead of the main conference set to be held at the University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P), the 85th Meeting of the AAU Governing Board was convened on Saturday and Sunday at the Rabat Campus of Mohamed V University. Prof. Olarinde, West Africa Representative, at the AAU Governing Board Meeting, participated in high-level deliberations alongside other distinguished African education leaders.
Expected participants at the week-long conference include Vice-Chancellors, Executive Heads of Universities, Higher Education Administrators, Policymakers, and Development Partners from across the continent and beyond.
ABUAD’s participation underscores the university’s growing leadership role in African higher education and its unwavering commitment to innovation, global collaboration, and sustainable development.
