From the rhythmic beats of Ethiopia to a captivating portrayal of Egypt’s rich history; from the savory delight of Ghanaian Waakye to the resplendent attire of Zimbabwe, the 2025 Cultural Day at ABUAD International School, Ado-Ekiti, was nothing short of spectacular. Pupils, students, parents, guests, well-wishers, teachers, and staff came together to celebrate cultural diversity in grand style.
This is an annual tradition, serving as a platform to promote and showcase the vibrant African cultures, the richness of its cuisines, melodious music of nations of the continent. The 2025 celebration has been acknowledged as the most outstanding yet, featuring stunning costumes, enchanting music, choreographed performances, captivating drama, and an array of exquisite African delicacies.
In her address, the Vice-Chancellor of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), Prof. E. Smaranda Olarinde, FCArb, FCAI, commended the school management for organizing such an impressive and well-coordinated event. She also lauded the Founder, Funder, and Financier of the school, Aare Afe Emmanuel Babalola (SAN), and his supportive wife, Yeye Modupe Babalola FSM, FNIMN, FFPA, for their unwavering dedication and parental guidance, which have propelled the school to enviable heights.

Prof. Olarinde noted that the school is a brainchild of Yeye Aare Babalola and emphasized that the event was a fitting way to also celebrate Valentine’s Day- the symbol of “love, unity and life”
“Today is Valentine’s Day, and the love we invest in our children will shape them into the leaders of tomorrow,” she remarked reassuringly.
Adding to the commendations, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Olasupo Ijabadeniyi, expressed his appreciation to the teachers for their relentless efforts in nurturing and guiding the students to excellence.
“My grandchildren study here, and I brought them all the way from Akure because this school is the best,” he affirmed.
The Head Teacher, Mrs. Bukola Ajisafe, radiated joy throughout the event, dancing and singing in celebration. She extended heartfelt gratitude to parents, teachers, and students, the Board of Trustees and the Governing Board of the school for their unwavering support and cooperation.
“Significant resources were invested to make this event as colourful as it is, and we deeply appreciate our dear parents for their generosity and commitment to this course,” she expressed.
The 2025 Cultural Day at ABUAD International School was a testament to the power of cultural appreciation, unity, and love—a true celebration of diversity and excellence.
