Today, as we join the global community in commemoration of 2025 World Hypertension Day, marked annually on the 17th day of May, since 2005, we are reminded of the critical importance of safeguarding our health and well-being through awareness and proactive management of hypertension.
This year’s theme, “Measure Your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control It, Live Longer,” underscores the life-saving value of early detection, precise monitoring, and effective management of blood pressure.
At Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), we remain steadfast in our commitment to promoting a culture of wellness and preventive healthcare across our campus and beyond. Through our state-of-the-art ABUAD Multi-System Hospital, we offer comprehensive health services, including regular blood pressure screenings, cardiovascular assessments, and public health education aimed at reducing the prevalence of hypertension and other non-communicable diseases.
In alignment with this year’s theme, I encourage every member of our university community, including; faculty, students, faculty, staff, and residents, to take charge of their health by regularly monitoring their blood pressure, we can all adopt healthy diets, engage in consistent physical activities to remain fit, and regular medical check-ups.
Let us also use this occasion to foster greater awareness within our communities, advocating for healthier lifestyles and encouraging those around us to prioritize their cardiovascular health using the ultra-modern facility of ABUAD Multisystem Hospital (AMSH).
Together, let us work towards a healthier, more vibrant ABUAD and Ekiti State community—one where every individual is empowered to measure accurately, control effectively their blood pressure, and live longer and healthier. Happy World Hypertension Day 2025!
