Prof. Olarinde reaffirms commitment to driving technological advancement in Nigeria
Earlier today, the Vice-Chancellor of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), Prof. E. Smaranda Olarinde, FCArb, FCAI, received a high-powered delegation of digital experts and Artificial Intelligence (AI) pioneers in her office, as part of ongoing efforts to position the University and Ekiti State as leaders in the nation’s digital transformation.
Leading the delegation, the pioneer Commissioner for Innovation, Science & Digital Economy, Ekiti State, Mr. Seun Fakuade, noted that the visit was designed to consolidate on the strategic partnership between ABUAD and the Living Spring College of Technology and Innovation (LISCOTECH), Oogi, Osun State, on leveraging the vast opportunities within the AI ecosystem.
“Artificial Intelligence is fast evolving, and this is why we are aligning with ABUAD’s groundbreaking collaboration with LISCOTECH, to ensure our people and institutions benefit from the immense possibilities of AI,” Mr. Fakuade stated.
In her remarks, Prof. Olarinde welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed ABUAD’s pioneering role in driving cutting-edge research and innovation:
“ABUAD was founded on the vision of excellence, and innovation remains at the heart of our mission. Artificial Intelligence offers transformative opportunities across education, healthcare, governance, and entrepreneurship. We are committed to working with our partners to unlock these opportunities for the benefit of our community, our state, and Nigeria at large.”
Also, on the delegation is the Rector of LISCOTECH, Dr. Kehinde Abiola; Associate Professor Ayodeji Olalekan Salau, Coordinator of ABUAD’s AI Hub; and Mr. Joseph Ojadokun, alongside other digital innovators.
This engagement reinforces ABUAD’s status as a trailblazer in digital innovation and a hub for future-oriented learning in Nigeria and beyond.
