Bola-Asana Daniel Olamide, a 100-level Aeronautical Engineering student at Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), has made headlines as the first student in 2025 to earn the Certified Entry-Level Data Analysis with Python (PCED) certification.
Daniel led 23 other participants, bagging the certification at the Ibadan center, having enrolled in the intensive nine-month programme, completed a virtual training course, and excelled in the internationally recognized examination organized by the Yomi Denzel Foundation. He scored 82%, well above the 75% pass mark, demonstrating outstanding proficiency in Python programming.
Returning with the good news today (Tuesday, May 6, 2025), Daniel expressed his gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. E. Smaranda Olarinde, FCArb, FCAI, for permitting him to attend the award ceremony held in Ibadanand constantly encouraging him to invest in his self-development.
Prof. Olarinde lauded Daniel’s exceptional achievement:
“I am very proud of you. Despite attending the programme virtually and balancing it with your academic responsibilities here, you still topped the list. You have once again proven that ABUAD is second to none when it comes to delivering quality education,” she said.
She further urged Daniel and his peers to continue upholding excellence, reflecting the values laid down by the university’s Founder and Chancellor, Aare Afe Emmanuel Babalola, OFR, CON, SAN. “Our Founder, despite his age, remains tireless in his pursuit of excellence. We must all strive to emulate his example,” she added.
In recognition of his success, Daniel was presented with a brand-new laptop to further support his learning and application of the skills gained during the programme.
Taking his newfound skills a step further, Daniel has co-launched a tech platform — a website designed to connect recruiters and job seekers seamlessly.
“Similar to LinkedIn, the site was developed using Python and HTML programming tools to facilitate networking between service providers and employers,” he explained.
Daniel also revealed that he has begun organizing training sessions for aspiring programmers and plans to continue advancing his expertise in data analysis and software development.
His achievement stands as a testament to ABUAD’s commitment to producing industry-ready graduates who excel both locally, internationally and in the most current fields digital worlds.
