- ABUAD being the only university in Nigeria honoured at the 15th anniversary of All Eyes on Africa: A Movement for African Excellence
Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) has earned another prestigious recognition for its exceptional role in Africa and its continental cultural heritage.
Amongst 100 esteemed invitees, ABUAD stood out as the only university worthy of this distinguished award, a testament to its remarkable contributions to education, innovation, and the advancement of Africa’s cultural legacy worldwide.
Receiving the “Outstanding Contribution to Educational Award” on behalf of the university, the elegantly poised Vice-Chancellor, Prof. E. Smaranda Olarinde, FCArb, FCAI, expressed profound gratitude to the organizers for acknowledging ABUAD’s impact. She paid special tribute to the university’s Founder and Chancellor, Aare Afe Emmanuel Babalola, SAN, CON, whose visionary leadership has propelled the institution to unparalleled heights not only in the education sphere but also on the diverse mosaic of Africa’s Culture.

The event was meticulously curated by PrincessFadeKemiFadojutimi’s All Eyes on Africa—a foundation dedicated to celebrating the beauty, diversity, and rich heritage of the African continent. The occasion was a vibrant showcase of African traditions that reignited a deep appreciation and admiration for the cultural essence of Africa.
Marking 15yearsof impactful initiatives, the grand affair unfolded on Thursday, February 27, and culminated on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the prestigious Eko Hotels & Suites, Lagos, attracting a distinguished audience from across the globe.
“Africa is truly blessed—from its fertile soil to its pure air, from its resilient people to its stunning landscapes. At Afe Babalola University, we embrace our African identity in all our endeavors.
It is an immense honour to be part of this extraordinary celebration,” Prof. Olarinde remarked with heartfelt admiration.
The occasion brought together distinguished dignitaries from all walks of life, including the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi CFR, who was ably represented by the Olowa of Igbara Oke, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede Ilufemiloye (Ogidi III), other eminent monarchs, visionaries, and lovers of our African art and culture—all united in a shared reverence for Africa’s past, a deep recognition of its dynamic present, and an unwavering optimism for a future brimming with promise and prosperity.
