Dear Members of the ABUAD Community and Friends of Global Progress,
Today, we join the global family in commemorating United Nations Day 2025, a special moment that reaffirms our shared commitment to peace, human rights, and sustainable development. This year’s theme, “Building Our Future Together,” is both a celebration and a call to action. It reminds us that progress is only meaningful when it is inclusive and when humanity works in partnership toward a common goal.
As the United Nations celebrates its 80th anniversary, we reflect on the lessons of cooperation and perseverance that have guided the world’s pursuit of peace and progress. ABUAD shares this spirit of partnership. We believe that building our future together requires collaboration among nations, institutions, and individuals, as well as respect for diversity, equity, and shared humanity.
At Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), we are proud to uphold the values that the United Nations represents. Through teaching, research, and community engagement, we continue to nurture responsible global citizens who use knowledge to create positive change. Our commitment to innovation, justice, and service reflects our alignment with the United Nations’ ideals of collective advancement and peace through understanding.
I therefore encourage every member of our community and beyond to embrace this year’s theme not as a slogan but as a personal mission. Let us strengthen our contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals, extend our research to address real societal needs, and uphold the dignity and equality of all people.
May this United Nations Day renew in us the spirit of service, cooperation, and compassion. Together, we can truly build the peaceful and prosperous future envisioned by the founders of the United Nations and upheld in the philosophy of our great university.
Happy United Nations Day!
