Esteemed Members of the ABUAD Community,
Today, as we join the global community in commemoration of World Hypertension Day 2025, marked every 17th of May, annually since 2005, we are reminded of the critical importance of safeguarding our health and well-being through increased awareness and proactive management of hypertension.
This year’s theme, “Measure Your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control It, Live Longer,” underscores the life-saving value of early detection, precise monitoring, and effective management of high blood pressure.
At Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), we remain steadfast in our commitment to promoting a culture of wellness and preventive healthcare across our campus and beyond. Through our state-of-the-art ABUAD Multi-System Hospital, we offer comprehensive health services, including regular blood pressure screenings, cardiovascular assessments, and public health education aimed at reducing the prevalence of hypertension and other non-communicable diseases.
In alignment with this year’s theme, I encourage every member of our university community, including; students, faculty, staff, and residents, to take charge of their health by regularly monitoring their blood pressure, adopting heart-healthy diets, engaging in consistent physical activity to maintain fitness, and seeking medical advice when necessary.
Let us also use this occasion to foster greater awareness within our communities, advocating for healthier lifestyles and encouraging those around us to prioritize their cardiovascular health.
Together, let us work towards a healthier, more vibrant ABUAD community—one where every individual is empowered to measure accurately, control effectively, and live longer.
Happy World Hypertension Day 2025!
Thank you.
