Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), is taking bold steps toward fostering multilingual education with a strong focus on the Chinese Language- Mandarin also known as Putonghua.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. E. Smaranda Olarinde, FCArb, FCAI, earlier today (Wednesday, February 26, 2025), participated in a hybrid stakeholder meeting to expand opportunities for learning Chinese at ABUAD.
The university’s Chinese Learning Room, which has been a hub for language acquisition, is rapidly evolving into a full-fledged Chinese Learning Centre. This development aligns with ABUAD’s mission to provide students with global competencies, equipping them with skills that enhance international collaborations and career prospects.
“Language is a key driver of global integration, and mastering the Chinese Language is a strategic advantage for our students, irrespective of their chosen field of study. At ABUAD, we are committed to making learning Chinese not just an aspiration but a reality for our students and staff alike to stay globally relevant anywhere they are” Prof. Olarinde stated.
