Christians have been charged to portray the life of Christ in all of their dealings- actions, inaction and decisions.
This charge was given on Sunday, February 2, 2025, by the Ekiti State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev (Dr.) Emmanuel Adeyinka Aribasoye while delivering a sermon at the Special Interdenominational Thanksgiving Service, held at Alfa Belgore Multipurpose Hall of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, (ABUAD).
The Thanksgiving Service was to rejoice with the 7th Set of graduating students from the College of Medical and Health Sciences, who are scheduled to be inducted into the Medical & Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), on Tuesday, the 4th of February, 2025.
Preaching from the Bible passage 1 Corinthians.6:17, 18, Dr. Aribasoye in his sermon titled “Dare to be Different” admonished the congregants to be righteous, truthful and different. “Come out from among them and be ye separate” the CAN Chairman stressed while quoting from the Bible.
He highlighted some of the benefits that accompany individuals who dare to live like Christ to include; divine protection, excellent spirit, dominion and “you will become a model” says Dr. Aribasoye.
The clergy urged the church, especially the prospective Inductees, to activate the life of Christ, “through positioning yourself to be a light, through your dressing, talking and appearance.” 1Pet.1:14-16.
The head of the Christian Community in Ekiti State, then led an Altar Call for consecration, before closing with prayers for healing.
Reverend Victor Ariyo, ABUAD’s Chaplain, appreciated God for seeing the celebrants through their days in medical school and led the Church in fervent prayers against joy killers. In his words: “Pray that on your day of rejoicing, your seat won’t be empty”.
The joyful inductees decked in gorgeous attires were given ample opportunity to express their heartfelt gratitude through praises and dance unto the Lord.
