- No room for illegality, corruption, laziness – ABUAD’s Vice- Chancellor to Guards
Students, staff, and relevant stakeholders have been assured of security of their lives and property all through 2025 and beyond.
The assurance was given today (Friday, 3rd of January, 2025) by the Vice Chancellor, Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) – Prof. E. Smaranda OLARINDE, at the Training of New Security Guards, held at the Sport Arena of the institution.
Prof. Olarinde, charged the “ABUAD Guards” as they are fondly called to be prompt, proactive and to desist from any illegal activity in all their operations, reiterating the resolve of the University’s management for diligence, service and excellence.
“Don’t take this position as an avenue to make illegal money, for yourselves. Anyone caught won’t just be exited but charged to the police station for disciplinary actions”, says the VC.
The Vice- Chancellor also assured the guards of open access, through useful, prompt, timely suggestions, and reports that will make the university and its community better.
In her words: “For example; that ‘the VC’s door was not locked’. The security at the White Rock was not up and doing, instead of two we had it was only one. Let me have the date, time. I am not interested in emotions but the fact that you’re complaining of”.
She also prayed to God Almighty to guide their operations. ”May the good Lord bless you, favour you. May you know new heights of progress and prosperity” prayed Prof. Olarinde.
Acting Chief Security Officer, Lt. Col. Ogunlakin O Emmanuel Rtd., in his reaction, appreciated the Vice- Chancellor for her unflinching support and promised to keep the standards of ABUAD.
“Vice Chancellor, Ma’, your presence at this training means a lot to us and we don’t take it for granted as we promise to stick to all your sterling standards aimed at making ABUAD greater”
The Assistant Chief Security Officer, Operations Mr. Paul Fatoye, Principal Security Officer, Mrs. Folake Oluleye was also at the training with other senior security officers and the newly absolved personnels.
